...CCEvents...

...LOTS of creative updates & posts are owed right now!  There has been a lot going on lately so I apologize!  So we just (my husband & I) wrapped up an ongoing project for an event planning company called CC Events in sunny California that I'd like to share- I provided both branding & web design services while my husband did what he does best with the back end programing to make the magic happen....

...& of course I started with a surface pattern...ha! BUT what better way to define a brand image than with pattern?!?!  They're eye catching & can be used on everything- from your website background to your business cards...kinda genius!

The design direction was modern yet playful & at this point the client was not  positive which company of they would be using the branding for (they have two) so they wanted something that would translate easily from an event planning company to an ice cream parlor....

I chose triangles as the main design element- representative of movement, celebration, confetti, sprinkles, or bunting flags, which was also meant to have a slight nautical interpretation for their coastal location in Newport Beach.

This was the evolution of the branding...which eventually ended up being quite simple & different, & even the name changed in the process- but it's fun to show anyways....here was the final...

...you can view the full website design here....& if you need any business or life event planning- Cat is your gal!  She's doing everything from weddings to corporate shindigs for clients like Kobe Bryant.  Check out her list of services here too! x mvg

...geo time...

...a little geometric inspiration for today...these ended up situating themselves closely to one another in my pinterest, coincidentally- so I had to share....hope everyone had a great weekend!  It was raining here so I was busy busy with indoor projects, trying to get Spring14 prints ready & out the door for the selling season!

It will never cease to blow my mind that these perfect shapes were originally inspired by things that occur in our natural world- like snowflakes....

...such beautiful perfection that disappears the second it hits the ground or your face....bring on winter!  Hope these are as much a source of inspiration to you as they are for me!  Beauty & inspiration is hidden all around us, you just have to look for it!

...good day...

...a petite celebration today...I got a lovely message in my inbox this morning from the studio I sell my prints with in New York.... one of my prints sold to a home furnishing company that does bedding for Kate Spade!  I'm beyond thrilled about this as you can imagine...it's the little things
that help to keep you passionate about your work & moving forward...thank you universe for this big one!  I wish I could share the print, but unfortunately I cannot due to all sorts of licencing restrictions...I'll have to keep it under wraps for now...

...and being in the festive mood, I couldn't help but post some colorful handmade visual displays done by Bramble Workshop, I love all that she does...so inspiring...enjoy x mvg

...anthropologie x front row society...

Friends & readers, I need your help!  I've been entered into this contest with Front Row Society & Anthropologie for one of my prints to be made into a scarf.  If I'm chosen I will get paid out for the print & the print will be made into a scarf that will be sold as part of the limited edition collection for fall for both Anthro & Front Row Society.  So I need your VOTE!

It's super easy- just go over here & sign up (top right corner) & then you can vote for my design here.

The design direction was "your element", since I'm both a mountain & beach gal I tried to incorporate the two into a previous sketch that I had.  My print represents the natural organic movement & flora of both the ocean & the mountains, & the fiery coral color is representative of the power of nature in both of these environments.  It reminds me a lot of the whitewash when a wave breaks & the way that snow moves when the wind blows.  These are my two elements that keep me grounded.

...love vs design...

...so I've been wanting to share this project I've been working on with you...love vs design asked me to contribute to their featured artist program for the fall...I was super excited- so I submitted a bunch of designs for off-beat wedding invites- I'm going to hold off posting the ones they chose until they launch  the complete package on their site in september, but here are a couple of the ones that they did not choose....but that I still love...

I still would like to get these out there somehow so if you or anyone you know would like either of these invites customized for your big day send me an email for a quote & more information....mollyvgraham@gmail.com

I really wanted to incorporate some of my recent surface pattern designs into these invites- they are the backsides, but really the main design element that I then built the layout & typography around...I had so much fun with this project! Hope you enjoy it too! x mvg
