...and I'm back from my travels...wow, what a whirlwind!  Boston => Nantucket => Vermont => Jackson Hole => Vermont => Francy Pants- never a dull moment!  While it was an amazing trip, I'm happy to be back & ready to tackle all of my upcoming design projects...AND, I'm moving into my new studio today!  Here's a powerful punch of color to get you going this week! ...hands on...

...it's been a good month or so since I've gotten down & dirty with my hands- so I'm longgggg overdue for a good crafting or painting session...

...back to basics & to the root of it all...sometimes the convenience of the computer takes over but there is nothing quite like working directly with your hands to create- it can be somewhat less forgiving (no ctrl + Z), but there is something about the connection and the process that is so rewarding...

I also feel badly that I have not shared a diy project in a while...so I promise more to come soon! x mvg

...how cool are these straw & paper creations by swedish artist per ake back man?!  They seem to have both a structural & organic feel at the same time.  

...I'd love to add something like this to a corner in our

... I was fortunate enough to be saddled up next to this lovely lady, label tania, at the les martines show the weekend before last....seriously talented & as nice as can be...

...she practiced her english while I struggled with my french, but we had some good laughs, sold some art, & drank some sangria once all was said & done.

...while sherin guirguis' mixed media paintings are beautiful, they're pretty deep & represent egypt at a time of both social & political upheaval- current exhibition in san francisco at Frey Norris Gallery- worth checking out for sure...x

...for me art is all about the process...I think it is for most artists- the act of creating & getting lost in it...it's everything to me...sometimes it's nice to have a plan on what you are going to create but other times there is a beauty in letting it evolve organically...here are 2 very different artistic approaches (as well as art) but both are about the beauty of the process...hope they inspire you as much as they have inspired me....I could watch these over & over again...{lisa solberg & supakitch & koralie} x mvg
