It has been a longggggg while since I posted last- lots of changes & new beginnings on many fronts.  I'm now working full-time on the design side of things over here at WellWed magazine.  I'm starting to feel more settled after all of these adjustments so I promise to be posting design inspiration weekly now along with creative happenings & projects!  Only good things to come- cheers to monday x mv

...flea market bounty...

...I have a shameless chair obsession, so when I saw this peacock chair at one of the flea markets this weekend I had to snatch it up & the price was right! 10 euros! Done! This beauty just needs a little love & soon she'll be sitting in our sunny living room (much to my husbands dismay- so maybe in my new studio).  What do you think, a glossy coat of black with a black & white patterned cushion? Should I keep it white?  Or maybe a fun pop color?  Anyways, you can get yours in a beautiful royal blue here!

...and I'm back from my travels...wow, what a whirlwind!  Boston => Nantucket => Vermont => Jackson Hole => Vermont => Francy Pants- never a dull moment!  While it was an amazing trip, I'm happy to be back & ready to tackle all of my upcoming design projects...AND, I'm moving into my new studio today!  Here's a powerful punch of color to get you going this week! ...billabong winter 12/13 shoot...

...last fall billabong eu asked to use our house for their winter 12/13 photoshoot- I was flattered & obviously agreed- the campaign just launched so now I'm able to share!  Here are some of the pics that were used from our house....

...we now have a great big vintage french map framed with repurposed wood on that bare teal wall!  

And this behind the scenes video from the photoshoot not only includes our house, but also some of the most beautiful parts of the french & spanish coast on the bay of biscay...

...island life in Ibiza...

how amazing is this Ibiza escape?!?  I came across this while thumbing through the latest issue of Dwell...(the last of my US mag stash by the way).  This gem is tucked into the quiet corner of the island & is owned by spanish rug designer Nani Marquina & photographer Albert Font- no doubt it's stylin!

...not sure about you, but when it comes to area rugs I have a definite soft spot...I can't seem to stop myself from wanting more, more, more!  I love how they can soften a space visually & also add color, texture, & character...

...and you can really put them anywhere...even in the kitchen (just not too close to the stove!)- we have a couple in our kitchen & they really make the space.  Here are some of my favorite finds...

...the cape...

...the blog is going to catch the brunt of my east coast nostalgia for the next few posts...so sorry- I still don't think I've come down from my vacation high!  AND the time when my family has traditionally spent 2 weeks in the cape in a little town called wellfleet is rapidly approaching- this will be my 2nd summer missed in over 20 years....so sad.  Anyways to the point- I picked up a bon appetit (weird) while in the US & came across the impressive provincetown summer home & recipes of John Derian.

I couldn't help myself & had to share the lovely styling done here & the to die for interior & recipes!

Steamed or grilled littleneck clams are the best...you can get the recipe here.
