...I picked up this lovely italian hand painted porcelain vessel at one of the fleas this weekend here in France...&....gifted it straight into the hands of my dear friends, Sage.  I think maybe it's original purpose was as a candy dish, but we decided a pretty place to stash jewels would be an appropriate use for it.  I had a hard time finding something similar in the current market, but came across these lovely hand painted petite bowls from Anthropologie.  What do you think? you can get the look here. I found some good steals last weekend at the anglet flea.  I cruised away with a basket of gems -some beautiful pink goblets & a vintage vogue mirror....ooolala...how feminine?!?!

...flea market bounty...

...I have a shameless chair obsession, so when I saw this peacock chair at one of the flea markets this weekend I had to snatch it up & the price was right! 10 euros! Done! This beauty just needs a little love & soon she'll be sitting in our sunny living room (much to my husbands dismay- so maybe in my new studio).  What do you think, a glossy coat of black with a black & white patterned cushion? Should I keep it white?  Or maybe a fun pop color?  Anyways, you can get yours in a beautiful royal blue here!

...the goods...

...I've been flea market hopping a lot lately & yesterday at the docks in Biarritz I found these killer bangles...beautifully silk threaded & full of color.  I'm pretty sure they're from India.  I'm not going to tell you how much I paid other than that they were a serious steal...I'm now regretting not buying the entire basket!  You can get yours here! enjoy x mvg

...biarritz vintage finds...

August has taken me away from my computer-which I don't think is a bad thing, but I do apologize for my lack of posts.  I've been spending a lot more time out & about taking in the french culture, landscape (good weather!) & inspiration....this past weekend & week has been filled with markets of all kinds- they're so good here!  Sunday I went to this vintage market in Biarritz that was filled with inspiration.

I was even able to snap a few photos of some amazing vintage fabrics as inspiration for patterns I will be designing for Seea for their upcoming season (which I'm super excited about by the way!!!)...

I uncovered the most incredible hand beaded tote of all time from my favorite vendor, J'viens d'la part de Madame Minet (she just opened a shop in Bayonne!)

...spanish finds...

...while in Barcelona last week I saw tons of little shops selling these spanish ceramics...I naturally fell in love with the sangria pitchers & tapas plates & ended up picking up a couple as gifts.  Regretting not  buying any for our home I coincidentally found the vase above at a french flea last weekend with my mamma....5 euros- score!  Then my babe came home from his Barcelona mission with the largest sangria pitcher ever- totally in love with the pitcher....& him...Anyways, you can score some of your own spanish ceramics here....x mvg

...fancy gems...

...I found these amazing stackable vintage gems at a brocante down in hendaye this past weekend...they were amongst a huge box of jewels- it was like digging for buried treasure- I loved every minute of it!  I ended up with a huge handful, but carefully edited my selection down to the trio above, but now I'm wishing I had come home with more!  Iosselliani has an amazing collection of stackable rings where you can score your own fancy baubles. x

...flea market finds: quintaou...

...we hit up the quintaou flea market this weekend in anglet & managed to walk away empty handed- I think mostly because it was super gorgeous out & my husband & I were eager to get in the ocean for our 1st surf of the season....but I did spot some gems along the way.  Here's where you can score some of your own....
