Pacific & Rose

There is a nice boutique style home goods store in Laguna called Vertigo Home right off the South Coast Highway that has gorgeous textiles.  Most notable are those of Pacific & Rose, another local company that makes hand-block printed textiles in India.  The line includes tablecloths, placemats, napkins, tablerunners, kitchen towels, curtains, & pillow shams.  I've posted pics of some of my faves below.  If you do make it to Vertigo there is also a great vintage shop next door called Macalistaire At 1850, which is to die for.  Cheers to summer xx

Words & Signage

I have a soft spot for vintage signs & artworks that use words as their framework.  Both my parents & grandparents have lots of these in their homes, which is why I'm probably drawn to them.  I recently got my fiance a great vintage road sign that says "east" to remind us of our roots.

I think it's great to have something hanging in your abode that catches your eye daily to either remind you of your roots, your passions, make you laugh/uplift your spirits, or just to give you daily inspiration.  These make great conversation pieces & serve as daily pick me ups!  Here are some of my faves....totally affordable too...xx

In the Buff....

The beach is heating up but the mountains are still blanketed in snow here in southern California, which is making me extremely indecisive when the weekends roll around.  The mountains have stolen my heart, but soon snowboards will be traded for surfboards & summer will be in full effect.

Regardless of the season, there is nothing more enjoyable than taking your normal bathing routine outside.  Here's a dedication to winter with Dutch Tub (totally amazing by the way- I want one of these!).  And in anticipation of summer I've included some great outdoor shower's to get you ready for scrubbing off the sun & sand. xoxo

Eye On Funderburgh

My fiance just sent me the link for Brooklyn artist & designer Dan Funderburgh.  Love his prints & patterns that he uses on both commissioned works & in his wallpapers.  Many of his wallpaper patterns provide a light hearted twist on traditional motif's & patterns if you look close.  Check out "Chinatown Toile"- the 3rd image down.

I'm not sure if it's still up but if you're in the NYC area, check out his installation "Map/Pursuit of Pursuit of Happiness" at Sigerson Morrison, 19 East 71st Street... xox
