...stone cold fox just came out with a bedding line which beautifully compliments their clothing (that's to die for- by the way)- laid back gypsy style with lux materials & intricate lace/crochet detail. I know that slipping into a bed made up with this collection will make you feel nothing short of sexy. xx mvg

...color-blocked....
...landlord nixed the idea of painting the entire dining room a deep teal color, but said it would be ok to paint 1 wall. Color-blocking a room- hmmmmm- not sure how I feel about this. What do you think? I like it here- everything else is pretty much white besides the black back wall. I will primarily use white as well for the surrounding walls & accents. Love the Jim Morrison black & white photo...not sure about the overflow of buddhas though...{xx mvg}

...mini pots...
...the dairy section in France is overflowing with yogurt! Most have an entire aisle devoted solely to the love of yogurt. Even better, many of the brands are sold in either little glass or ceramic containers, perfect for re-purposing! I'm thinking tea lights for the glass pots & mini succulent flower pots for the ceramic ones. I'm sure we'll have an army of these before you know it...the yogurt here est tres bonne! Au revoir skinny jeans! {images via design mom} xx mvg

...old french farm table...
...we recently purchased an old french country farm style table from La Trocante in Bayonne for 90 euros! It's got good old bones-just needs a little love & I can't wait to fix it up! I'm going to refinish the top & stain it with my grandfathers secret stain recipe & paint the legs a high gloss mustard color & then distress them a bit. Here are some images of ideas I've had for it- I don't know I may go black on the turned legs- I haven't fully decided yet. I'm going to pair this table with a gorgeous shimmery chandelier & our modern Verner Panton S chairs!
...glitz & mirror...
...loving mirrored tile right now....the tiny square tiles in the 1st image are so much fun- creating a disco ball effect & reflecting light everywhere! The mirrored subway tiles in the second image are from a shower in a home in East Hampton. A friend of ours was a carpenter on this job & was nice enough to give us a sneak peak at this amazing estate- I was in heaven! xx mvg

...dimanche en france...
...since our arrival in France my husband & I have had a hard time getting used to the hours of stores & markets, but I think we're finally starting to get the hang of it. Everything is closed on Sundays with the exception of a few food markets that are indoor- farmers market style & some select restaurants- most of these close around 2pm so we've taken advantage of Sundays as our market day & food/drinks with friends. This Sunday we rode our newly purchased scooter to the brochante in Cinq Cantos square in Anglet. It was filled with several vendors mostly selling larger french antiques- none of which would fit on our bike with us- luckily for my husband! We split a ham & cheese croissant & hopped back on our scooter to head to Les Halles in Biarritz to get our produce for the week. Les Halles has outdoor vendors as well as 2 separate indoor markets selling everything from fresh spices, cheese, & coffee to fish & dried ham. It's amazing! While on the fishy side of the market we decided to seize the day & get a platter of oysters & white wine (10:45 too early??? Not here!)- they shuck the oysters for you right there on site. 6 oysters & a glass of white wine for 6 euros...As if we hadn't indulged enough we then met our friends Steve & Sage who recently moved here as well at a bar next to the market, Le Comptoir, for Sangria & Tapas. My favorite tapas was brie with honey- so good. The guys were delving into the foie gras tapas- but I'm not sure I'm ready to try that yet....liver! Amazing Sunday with great friends & my love...Sunday has a whole new meaning here & I intend to embrace it! Carpe diem! {xx mvg}
