...yarn & paint...
1. materials needed: yarn, paint, brushes, & a few wooden blocks (or anything wrap-able in the shape you want)
2. start by wrapping the wooden block with the yarn & fasten at the back with a knot and/or secure with a piece of masking tape.
3. apply the paint to the block- the yarn can be quite absorbent at first, so you may want to try testing on a scrap piece of paper first...
4. ...then start stamping

...isabel marant...
...totally digging isabel marant's spring12 collection...tons of texture & the relaxed gypsy vibe is spot on with me. Kate Bosworth rocked an amazing distressed cable knit sweater from the line at the Sundance Festival (below)...she & marant go well together...perfectly paired...
...in the layers...
...it's all about the layering- from your jewelry to your clothing to your home...take a peak at the Leaf series video from because I'm addicted on how to layer your jewelry & the West Elm vid on how to layer your bed...xx mvg

...the seea...
...how annoying is it to have to think about your coverage when you're trying to catch a wave? Not to mention the fact that it's super uncomfortable to have your suit riding up or falling down...I have to say the second I put on a wetsuit the only focus I have is catching the next wave & I'm not worried or annoyed by anything else...In the summer (at least here) it's too hot for a wetsuit so whats a girl to do? Seea!!! The vintage inspired bathing suit line for surfer gals that strikes the perfect balance between surf function & style. All suits are hand crafted in California...thanks Amanda!

...jura lodge//scotland...
...in search of boutique hotels for an upcoming trip to Munich & Innsbruck I stumbled across this gem on the Isle of Jura- situated off the western coast of Scotland. The Jura Lodge is a former distillery house & the area is known for it's scotch, deer to person ratio (5,500 to 200), & difficulty in getting to. It definitely has an eclectic, vintage french, old world vibe that I just fell in love with. The entire lodge is for rent, but it's pricey (2,500 british pounds a night)...shooting, fishing, lobster eating, sailing, & whisky drinking....sounds like a Velte vacation....I'll keep dreaming for now...{images via jura lodge}
The lodge is available for

...my yoga online...
...how awesome is this picture?!? I wish I felt so at ease in a pose like this...ha! Unfortunately I'm usually hanging on for dear life...but practice-practice-practice right? Maybe someday!
Since being in France I've had a tough time finding a yoga studio that I'm love with, not to mention the fact that the classes are all in french which presents an interesting situation in itself. I'm not giving up yet in my quest since it will definitely only help my french, but until then I've found another solution- My Yoga Online. If you're like me & try to practice yoga everyday it can be costly if you go to a studio. This site costs around $9 a month I think & you have access to thousands of yoga videos from instructors all over the country. I'm seriously obsessed & it's great if you travel a lot because you can do it from wherever & whenever...pretty great. Here are some of my top videos that I would recommend if you join. We got a few solid days in of riding when we first arrived filled with sunshine, untracked snow, & minimal crowds....amazing! After Christmas the mobs came in, but the sunshine, a bit of off piste riding & apres cocktails (vin chaud) kept us happy the rest of the week for sure. A snow storm rolled in the day we were supposed to leave so of course we stayed! We caught an extra day of powder which was epic....Here are a few instagram pics I took while we were up there...looking forward to going back real soon...x
