I'm mildly obsessed with this shoot from vogue italia- I've always loved kirsten, but this is one of my favorites for sure with it's whimsical alice in wonderland type theme. Loving the soft palettes created & that black dress is to die for. Check out the vid from the shoot here- . x mvg

...just saying...
...where do you go or what do you do to recharge & put things in perspective? For me it has always been the mountains or the ocean....whether it be hiking, snowboarding, surfing, or yoga- these tend to help me take a step back & put life in perspective & take that much needed breath of fresh air along with some solitude. I think I'm in need of a recharge right about now...looking forward to getting into the water with my babe real soon...{images via pinterest} x mvg
...label tania...
... I was fortunate enough to be saddled up next to this lovely lady, label tania, at the les martines show the weekend before last....seriously talented & as nice as can be...
...she practiced her english while I struggled with my french, but we had some good laughs, sold some art, & drank some sangria once all was said & done.

...make it- painted terracotta planter
...I've been wanting to share this project for a while now, but up to this point the weather has been pretty crummy here in France- not planting flowers weather! This is kind of a spin off the market basket project I shared a couple months ago- but with ceramics & a patterned edge.
You'll need a paintbrush, ceramic paint (your local craft or art store should carry it- but you can also find it here, a terra-cotta pot (from your local garden shop- un-ridged would be best ), & flowers! Just make sure the pot is clean & dry before you start- 2 coats should do the trick & don't be afraid to get creative! I used a pretty metallic silver paint to spice up my pots but any color would work great. Another variation of this project would be just to do a straight edge color block- in which case you could just use masking tape to create the straight edge all the way around the pot. This project was pretty quick & super fun. Hope you enjoy! x mvg

...package perfection...
...I love the idea of having double sided invites don't you? A super cool print on one side & the text on the other, this wedding stationery package is to die for...I love the mixing of prints & the soft palette used- the marbled print is so beautifully organic next to the more graphic envelope liner print...love love...via here...

...rockmafia...
...several french brands stole my heart this past weekend at les martines , one of them was rockmafia. Lots of leather, suede, & cool stitching details. I'm totally a bag lady- soooo in love with their bags!
Great photos & styling by ruban collectif for their summer lookbook...
I'm desperately in need of a new laptop bag- this one would be perfect, don't you think? I love the suede & canvas mix...more posts on the other french brands & artists to follow...x mvg

...les martines...
...I had my first art show in france this weekend with les martines & it was a success! The show was in an exhibition space on the beach & drew in over 3,000 people over the course of the two days- I made a ton of sales, some good connections, & some good friends along the way! My husband couldn't have been more supportive & we definitely took advantage of the delicious tapas & sangria together at the end of each night to treat ourselves!
I was thankful to have my customized mini biz cards from moo with my artwork on them- they got snatched up & I was wiped out by the end of the day on Saturday...not a bad sign. Lots of fun projects & collabs on the horizon!
The paper bags for the prints with my custom logo from here sealed the deal...
This was my setup & those are actually pictures of frames- not actual frames....trompe l'oeil as the french call it! Below was my inspiration board for the show display...I wanted to keep it simple, but also to have fun & not make it too serious...

...the great...
...a hippy at heart I've always loved coming across random man made balancing rock sculptures in their natural environment, so this balancing block set struck up a bit of vermont nostalgia for me. The facets & distressed white wood are true gems...x mvg

...barceloneeee...
... I had a rather rapid (36 hour) trip to barcelona the week before last- my husband was there for work & had a day off...so what did I do? I hopped on the soonest flight I could find to explore barcelone with my babe. It was "speed sight seeing" as we like to call it- & we absolutely ate & drank our way through that city! sooooo...here is a mini guide to the must see's & must eat's of barcelona...
Definitely hit up the eclipse bar at the W- the views of the city from here are amazing (the photo above). If you want a taste of the old city, 4gats would be your spot- this is where pablo picasso & other bohemian types used to hang back in the day- it feels frozen in time- how cool is that? I also highly recommend bar lobo- amazing tapas & some serious sangria- we may or may not have over served ourselves...whoops! Not to mention the interior decor of this place is super fun...
There are lots of markets around barcelona- most of them were closed since it was a holiday, but this one below had some cool graphics so I had to snap a pic...
The most ridiculously absurd cathedral I have ever been to in my life- this is a must must must- it feels like something out of candy land...la sagrada familia
...and how great is this guy? yes, that is love written with empty spanish beer cans!
..and us...say queso! what an amazing day...

More posts to come on that soon- promise! x mvg

...only in dreams...
...how beautiful is this image? This double exposure reminds me of an amazing dream I had recently...you know those dreams that feel so real- the ones you wish would never end- this was one of them...my babe & I were flying hand in hand in a silent snowfall- the most elaborate snow flakes you've ever seen, & below us were millions of paper lanterns that had just been lit- soft glows- slowly drifting up to meet us...it was so surreal but so beautiful- something my waking mind could never have thought of...only in my dreams I guess...but I'd settle for the Yi Peng (floating lights festival) in Thailand too, it looks so magical...
