...vacationstaycation...

...we just returned from a much needed vacation- kind of a staycation actually since we just cruised up the coast, but it was so lovely!  We were able to see parts of France that we have not yet seen.  I fell in love with St.Emilion (and the wine is not too shabby either)- we'll definitely be going back there.  And Il d'yeu was just the coolest.  About 15 miles off the coast of France this little island (15 miles by 3 miles) had a lot to offer.  With limited motor traffic the chosen mode of transport was by bike so we hoofed it around the island to the sites & beaches.  The oysters were to die for & the unspoiled nature & miles of empty beach made me never want to live this little fisherman's island.  The main port was lined with art galleries (which I loved of course) & lots of little cafe's, creperies, & wine bars.  It reminded me of a combination of Wellfleet Mass- on the cape & Nantucket (but not so posh)....seriously a charming place!  You must go! More pics to post soon...x mvg
